A Doctor whose patient empowerment campaign has found worldwide success has been honoured by fellow medics.

Dr Kate Granger, who has terminal cancer, was given the Special Achievement Award at the BMJ Awards in London.

Dr Granger, from East Ardsley, launched #hellomynameis to encourage medical workers to introduce themselves after her own experiences as a patient.
