16-year-old appears before Leeds Crown Court accused of murdering Irfan Wahid

A 16-year-old-boy has appeared before a Crown Court accused of murdering Leeds teenager Irfan Wahid, who was stabbed to death.

Irfan, also 16, died from a single stab wound to the chest in Harehills Lane, Leeds, at around 3.45pm on Friday afternoon.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but died shortly afterwards.

The defendant, who cannot be identified, appeared before Leeds Crown Court today. (Feb 16)

No pleas were entered to the murder charge.

The case was adjourned until March 23 when a plea and trial preparation hearing will be held.

A provisional trial date was set for July 23. No application for bail was made and the teenager was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
